Here is an interesting article on this subject. Many may not know that the bullfrog is not native to the Western United States and was imported and stocked in lakes and wetlands years ago by those wishing to sell froglegs to the local restaurants. They have done very well here. The problem is that they tend to be at the top of the food chain and those species they eat are being decimated. The loss of amphibians is often blamed on herbicides use and this article points to a major potential cause.
